Lino Capolicchio—The Garden of the Finzi-Continis—9/25/2015

Lino Capolicchio remains best known on these shores for starring in the 1971 Academy-Award-winning Best Foreign Film: The Garden of the Finzi-Continis. His 56 other acting credits include a bit part in Franco Zeffirelli's The Taming of the Shrew and substantial roles in The House with the Laughing Windows and Fiorile. He also directed the 1995 film Pugili and the 2002 film Il diario di Matilde Manzoni, discovering and promoting important acting talent in the process. Capolicchio frankly recalled memories of working with director Vittorio De Sica and hobnobbing with the stars when we sat down at the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco, who hosted Capolicchio as a part of Vittorio De Sica: a film series, co-presented by Istituto Luce Cinecittà and the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco, with the support of the Leonardo da Vinci Society.
