Will Arnett
Will Arnett—
Sit Down Shut Up
,
Arrested Development
—02/27/09
I did play those kind of parts, quite frankly...maybe a little bit too much...So I made a decision that I did want to kind of harness whatever a-hole capabilities that I have and use them for good.
Blades of Glory (2007)
The script's failure leaves a heavy burden on the cast, and how well they compensate is both a testament to their talent and a waste of it.
Hot Rod (2007)
Oh, Napoleon Dynamite! What have you wrought?
Semi-Pro (2008)
A sort of cinematic comfort food: it's the mac and cheese of the cineplex.
Monsters vs Aliens (2009)
The
coup de grace
comes in the form of Ginormica, a clever metaphor of figurative and literal female empowerment...Plus there’s lots of explosions.
G-Force (2009)
When they're not risking their lives with exciting spy maneuvers, Blaster works out to Lady Gaga and Juarez updates her Facebook page. Okay, so maybe
G-Force
is just a tad self-consciously 'hip.'
When in Rome (2010)
Can I interest you in a nice nap?
Despicable Me (2010)
Weds a Charles Addams drollness to Looney Tunes one-upmanship.
The Secret World of Arriety (2012)
That relaxed pace allows the story to breathe—forget the franticness of most American animation—and along with the gorgeously detailed art, lush color, and swoony music...the film is all but guaranteed to entrance children.
Men in Black 3 (2012)
Has no MSG. I mention this because many will probably want to make a meal of it and, it should be said, it's both pretty tasty and will leave you feeling hungry an hour later...
The Nut Job (2014)
Like many rodents, the plot runs in circles, covering over and over again the same ground...[Plus,] Psy, who parties like it's 2012.
The Lego Movie (2014)
Zany episodes...provide a clothesline on which to hang social satire and an overriding message that an individual's imagination can trump social and cultural oppression. Throw out the instructions, and make what you want of the world. Plus butt jokes.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
To be fair, this isn't
War and Peace
. It's a movie with a nunchuk-wielding reptile standing over six feet tall, drooling over pizza, and making boner jokes about Megan Fox.
The LEGO Batman Movie (2017)
Full to bursting with Easter Eggs for longtime Batman fans...Zany, frantically paced, and busy, busy, busy. For some, that...will be a bit exhausting, especially in brain-fatiguing LEGO-construction-block animation.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)
While adults will probably find somewhat diminishing returns in
The Second Part
, its cheeky variations on all the constructions that worked so well the first time also work pretty darn well, and to a good end.
