For everything else that's come down the road, nothing has been better to Stallone than his baby, Rocky.

Some of the twelve short films are nice enough, some are shaky and a few are outright awful...

McCarthy does a fine job of juggling the domestic mystery, situational comedy, and inevitable drama, and his terrific cast is well-suited to the deadpan ethical satire.

It's all here: the famous Bill Conti fanfare, the 'Gonna Fly Now' training montage, the inevitable 'David and Goliath' climax.
