The outlandish gags are usually good for at least a chuckle, and Colbert's left-field satire classes up the enterprise, but multiplying the tight sitcom half-hour by four may not be a science experiment worth repeating.

The coup de grace comes in the form of Ginormica, a clever metaphor of figurative and literal female empowerment...Plus there’s lots of explosions.

This version...won't be remembered as a major one—it's too faithful and too wobbly for that—but it's an entertaining novelty version, largely justified by the casting and Gemignani's slavish devotion to the original Broadway orchestrations.
