Paul Walker
Paul Walker & Wayne Kramer—
Running Scared
—02/11/06
Paul Walker & Wayne Kramer: 'I loved the mobsters, man. I mean growing up as a kid it was cowboys and Indians and it was mobsters. I mean, that's an American childhood, you know?'
The Fast and the Furious (2001)
Guilty-pleasure action sequences...amped-up visuals and hearty, young stars...the problem is that the stilted dialogue and style-over-substance form seem instantly dated.
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
With its ballsy, bar-raising disregard of sense, this solid sequel mildly improves upon the original...summer movie camp 2 gleefully preposterous 2 be dismissed.
Timeline (2003)
Into the Blue (2005)
Primarily,
Into the Blue
displays plenty of priceless booty (and the treasure is impressive, too...).
Eight Below (2006)
Marshall sort of gets away with murder by walking the line of pitiless Antarctic cold and family-film warmth.
Running Scared (2006)
Kramer stokes kinetic energy and hard-R intensity...may amount to no more than a punch to the gut, but...it's all in bad fun.
Fast & Furious (2009)
Furious
entertainment for a moment of 'populist rage.' But it’s hard to escape the feeling that
Fast & Furious
is more than a little…mechanical.
