Mark Burton has screenwriting credits on Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit: the Curse of the Were-Rabbit (which won an Oscar in 2006 for Best Animated Feature Film), Gnomeo and Juliet, Aliens in the Attic, ITV's satirical puppet show Spitting Image, and the BBC1 sitcom The Peter Principle, starring Jim Broadbent. Richard Starzak, a.k.a. Richard "Golly" Goleszowski,has a long history animating and directing for Aardman Animations, including work for Pee Wee's Playhouse, Creature Comforts, Rex the Runt, and Shaun the Sheep (he also directed the acclaimed Robbie the Reindeer special Hooves of Fire). Now Burton and Starzak have co-written and co-directed Shaun the Sheep Movie, which they discussed with me at San Francisco's Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
