We first meet Nomi ("no me") as a switchblade-wielding wildcat hitchhiking her way to Vegas

emotionally, she's an open wound and physically, she's spastic, which makes for a volatile combination on and off the dance floor (she kicks more than an unbroken horse). Her "erotic" dancing looks like a failed attempt at inventing a new martial art, and later she seems to do just  that, with a scene of topless roundhouse ass-kicking that might be called "sex-boxing."
